Thankful - Thanksgiving

An entire day devoted to offering thanks and gratitude.

That's what I am thankful for today.

(and food, it's also a day devoted to food and I'm thankful for that too!)

I am so thankful to have taken the time to really be thankful this month. This has been an incredible opportunity and reminder to me of all that I am blessed with and all that I hold dear in my life. Every single day for 26 days, I have given tremendous thought to the things I am thankful for in my life and expressed my gratitude for all of my blessings. Many of my thankful thoughts were very important and sacred things to me and some were just small trivial things, but things that still enrich my life. Each day as I looked at my thankful banner across my mantel, I have thanked my Heavenly Father for all that he has bestowed upon my life.

I have realized that although my life is far from perfect, I am blessed far beyond what I need and may even deserve in some cases. There are holes in my life and in my heart, but I know that the Lord is mindful of me and my struggles and desires. I have been reminded to have faith and to be thankful. I have an amazing heritage, incredible parents, siblings I love, the most "close to perfect" mister I could have ever dreamed of, a beautiful home that I adore, a job that I enjoy, the best friends a girl could wish for, neighbors that are good to us, we live in a beautiful place and a country that enjoys freedoms many do not have and luxuries that most of the world will never know, I have many opportunities to serve the Lord and others and to do my part to try and make a difference and most of all, I have a testimony of my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ and of their eternal plan. With that knowledge I know that I can accomplish anything and get through any challenge that this mortal life throws my way. I am so incredibly blessed... both temporally and spiritually.

Thankful?
More than ever!

Thank you for reading my blog this month and thank you for the many nice comments. I have blogged more this month than I usually blog in many months combined and I have loved it and the opportunity it has given me to take the time to be reminded of so much. I am thankful for this little space to use as a personal journal to express my thankful heart. I am hoping to finish out the month with a few more thankful thoughts, but I am off to dinner with the in-laws and then to the UC where I will spend lots of time with my family eating leftovers and my mom's homemade pies. I'm planning to have sleepovers at my parents, get up early with my mom for the black friday doorbusters, enjoy brunch with my girlfriends and attend the biggest football game of the year. I don't know how much blogging I will get to, just know that I am out there and I am still super thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving!

XOXO
