Things I am thankful for this week...

We all have those weeks where we feel inadequate, overwhelmed and even a little insecure. Well, this week has been one of those for me. I just wanted to express gratitude for some of the comforting things in my life.

I could have never imagined the peace and comfort that this place could bring in the hectic world that we live in. How grateful I am for the opportunity to serve and for the uplifting, comforting spirit that is felt.

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

"And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." 1Nephi 3:7

"... I cried unto him continually, for he had said unto me: Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it." Enos 1:15

"And in doing these things thou wilt do the greatest good unto thy fellow beings, and wilt promote the glory of him who is your Lord.
Wherefore, be faithful; stand in the office which I have appointed unto you; succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees." D&C 81;4-5

How grateful I am for true and living, latter day prophets to guide and direct us in our times. This fall, we splurged on this incredible limited edition leather bound set of The Teachings of our Prophets. Wow, have I loved it. These past nearly 2 weeks, I have thirsted after the words and legacy of our beloved prophet, President Hinckley, knowing that we would not be able to hear his counsel again in this lifetime. What comfort it has brought me and how glad I am that we have wonderful leaders to guide and direct us.

“Get on your knees and ask for help, and then get up and go to work, and you’ll be able to find your way through almost any situation.”

"Frequently it is not easy to face up to that which is expected of us. Many of us think that we can not do it. We need a little more faith. We should know that the Lord will not give us commandments beyond our power to observe. He will not ask us to do things for which we lack the capacity. Our problem lies in our fears and in our appetites."

"The cause of Christ does not need your doubt; it needs your strength and time and talents; and as you excercise these in service, your faith will grow and your doubts will wane."

"I give you my witness that the leaders of this church will never ask us to do anything that we cannot perform with the help of the Lord. We may feel inadequate. That which we are asked to do may not be to our liking or fit in with our ideas. But if we will try with faith and prayer and resolution, we can accomplish it. I give you my testimony that the happiness of the Latter-day Saints, the peace of the Latter-day Saints, the progress of the Latter-day Saints, the prosperity of the Latter-day Saints, and the eternal salvation and exaltation of this people lie in walking in obedience to the counsels of the priesthood of God."

"Stand a little taller. Make each day a little better than the one before"

GOOD FRIENDS...
I am so lucky to have such good friends, even at times in my life that I probably didn't deserve them. I hope that all of these women know (as well as so many others, not shown) what examples they have been to me in my life. I have known most of these amazing women since Jr High School, some even longer and I am so thankful for their goodness and examples to me. Even when I have not deserved it or been the kind of friend I should have been, these people have loved me. Thank you!

As I always say, "you have the cutest blog!" you express yourself so well! You wonder why you were called to be the YM President?! Um, because you're the best of the best! You're so in tune, so sweet, so cute! Now to the important issue! (j/k of course) WHY, WHY,WHY out of all the years we have taken pictures at the cabin did you choose the one where I am about to give birth?!?! that is just plain rude! I have that clock that is by the scriptures :) cute pictures! did u take them all? I'm so grateful for your friendship :) I'm sorry my blog didn't make sense and I met your friend Amy today. (I think her name was Amy) she was cute, super tall and brown hair. Said she use to live across the street from u and your sister? and this is for sure the longest comment I've ever left! How's that for all over the board?! I think I took too much cold medicine
