My cute, not so little anymore, nephew just returned from his mission in Texas this past week. Wow has he grown up and wow is he handsome.
We had the opportunity to go and hear him speak yesterday and it was just what I needed. He spoke about the "small and simple things" and how they make all the difference. He did such a great job and started his talk with one of my all time favorite stories from President Hinckley (a story that I've thought about alot and used many times in talks and lessons). He once worked for the railroad and told of a train originating in Oakland, traveling across the country, through many cities and railyards along the way, only to arrive in New Jersey to realize that the baggage car was missing. After much searching and re-tracing, it turns out that a worker in the St Loius railyard had moved a piece of steel on the track an incorrect few inches and that sent the baggage car down a different track finally arriving in New Orleans....1300 miles away from its original destination. Isn't that amazing... a small 2-3 inch error resulted in a 1300 mile difference....an entirely different destination! Pretty powerful.
Colb's talk was such a good reminder to me about all of the small and simple things and true "exact obedience". It was a really great day to spend with family and loved ones!WELCOME HOME COLBY!

ahh how neat! I can't believe you have a nephew that age! How fun for you. Missions are the greatest!!! Make sure you ask him questions about his mission. I'm sure he wants to share things. I was so shocked (and very sad) that almost nobody ever asked me to share any experiences from my mission. It's a HARD adjustment to come home. Way harder to come home then to go out. Pretty flowers. I listened to you and put 2 things on Etsy, but need to take better pictures. Thanks for your posts :)
