When I first met my guy, he was in the process of building his dream house, so when we got married we sold my townhouse in Utah County and just decided to rent while we built. As it turns out...that "process" is L-O-N-G. Much longer than either of us (well, me atleast) expected. Today it's still a pile of dirt awaiting final permits. After renting for nearly a year now and realizing that the dream house is going to take some time to make it happen, we were starting to wonder how much longer we were going to last in our small 2 bedroom rented condo! Over the holidays, we happened to stumble upon a new listing that is right around the corner from where we are living and fell in love. We absolutley love this neighborhood and our ward is incredible. Although at the time, we weren't looking to buy, things just fell into place and it felt right. So...bottom line...thanks to the help of my fabulous sister, (our real estate agent), this little beauty is now known as Casa del Johnson! Chris isn't ready to give up his dream of building yet...but for now...THIS is the Place and we are ecstatic!
The bad news...it's a little bit of a project. It was built in 1956 and it shows. I am sure that in it glory days, the pink toilets, rose tiles, floral wallpaper and sunny yellow bathtub were fancy schmancy....but, now they're just tired and outdated! Fortunately with 4 fireplaces, exposed brick walls, a great master suite and an incredible yard, we saw the potential. We've decided to give the house a little overhaul, by remodeling most of it. We're hooked on HGTV, TLC and the DIY network. We love watching all of the home improvement shows and are excited to have one of our own (minus the video camera, swear words and millions watching, of course), so...
We're Kim & Chris, and THIS IS OUR FLIP!!!!
(I'll be posting some great before/after interior shots throughout the next couple of months!)
Stay Tuned!
Luckily, our lease isn't up on our condo for a couple more months...so while we work, you can continue to find us here...
