Although I'm not currently speaking to my biological clock and I totally despise the thought of getting even one day older, I do love a good reason to celebrate. And this week, we took full advantage! We were lucky enough to wrap this little overnighter celebration around a work "assignment" that CJ had. I'm not actually sure that a golf tournament counts as either an assignment OR an obligation of any kind...but, whatever, that's beside the point. I decided to tag along and boy did we pack a lot into a 24 period.
It started with a lovely drive up Emigration Canyon, then on to Park City for a quick stop at the outlets and then dinner here:
Then it was on to Midway for our stay at the Homestead. It seems to get more beautiful and quaint every time I visit:
After a fabulous night's rest and a yummy breakfast, CJ was off to his working engagement:
while I got to spend the day here:
After a lovely lunch break, I topped off my spa day with one of these:

Once my gentleman friend finished his "work day"... back to Park City we went, where we caught an afternoon matinee and enjoyed a big tub of popcorn. (WITH butter, I might add)

After the movie, we stumbled across this little out of the way Park City gem:
*
We sat on the patio...
*oh ya, and this sinfully delicious thing:
You might have thought that we had reached our maximum calorie intake by that point, but don't worry...we took another dessert to go, just so that we could do this when we got home:
Thanks for a perfect birthday CJ!
(And I haven't even begun to mention all the kind messages, texts, cupcakes, giant homemade card and all the other lovely things that capped off my perfect day! Just know that I felt very loved and I appreciated every bit of it.)

Last, but not least:
I can't possibly post about my birthday without mentioning my much more beautiful "sister from another mister (and mrs)" Shannon.
You see, she and I were born on the very same day and were actually roomies in the hospital together. I can't help but smile every time I think about the Big Guy sending us off on our big earthly adventure together...knowing that all these years later, we'd still be such great friends! There is no one that I'd rather share my special day with!
We've come a long way baby!
