HISTORY!

Today was an opportunity to be an eyewitness to history. As I watched coverage of the inauguration this morning and throughout the day, I found myself very moved and even emotional at times by what I saw and what I heard. Although I did not vote for Barack Obama, I felt very proud and inspired to see so many Americans coming together this day. I found myself proud to be an American and to live in this free country. I found myself proud to know that we live in a land where anything is possible and there are no more excuses. And mostly, I felt very inspired to do my part.

However, I was a little "less" than inspired and proud of this:

You crack me up. I thought the same thing. That bow was bigger than her head. I guess when you have as much money and fame as she does you can wear whatever the h#*@ you want.

Amen!

And you know what? When you are Aretha...you can wear anything you darn well want to. She is the original SISTA. (and I just snapped my fingers while typing that)

Ha ha--I missed her hat, I only say parts of the ceremony...glad you caught me up on that one! I agree with your sentiments about our country. I am very proud to be a part of what is going on in the country right now and for the progress we are making to become more united! LYG!

OK.....so random.......DURING the speech......I was crying my eyes out when my phone rang. My caller ID said 801-XXX-XXXX (so I knew it was Utah) and the name said K Johnson Nelson. So.......I thought it was you and for that reason (and that reason ONLY) I answered the phone.....instead of saying hello....I said...."Yep.....I'm sitting here just crying my dang eyes out like a great big baby." Turns out....it wasn't you....... it was my moms friend KJ Nelson! Crazy! She was like, is this AMY? I figured out pretty quickly it was not you! SAD! Real, real SAD!

Thanks for your post! I love you lots! xoxoxoAMy
